Devin Williams was one of the most dominant pitchers in all of Major League Baseball this season. He was elite during his 22 appearances in the shortened season. He is the first reliever since Craig Kimbrel to win the award, and the first non-closer to win the award since Scott Williamson in 1999.

Devin Williams 2020 stats:

4-1 record, 0.33 ERA, 53 Ks, 0.630 WHIP

Williams received 14 of 30 first place votes.

This is the first time two African American players swept the award since 1984, when Alvin David (A.L), and Dwight Gooden (N.L.) both won.
