Winner: Jose Abreu
This was the easy choice for most of the baseball world. Abreu led the league in almost every major statistical category and helped the White Sox make the playoffs earlier than projected. He batted .317, hit 19 home runs and had an astonishing 60 runs batted in on the season. He was a nightmare to opposing pitchers, and teams should have avoided him at all costs.
He is the first White Sox player to win an MVP award since Frank Thomas, who won the MVP back-to-back in 93'-94'.
National League finalists: Freddie Freeman (ATL), Mookie Betts (LAD), Manny Machado (SD)

Winner: Freddie Freeman
After 11 years in the major leagues, Freddie Freeman finally gets recognition for being one of the best all-around players in the game. This year he sprinted out of the gates, and did not slow down until the Atlanta Braves were eliminated from the NLCS. In the shortened season, Freddie Freeman hit .341, had an on-base percentage of .462, hit 13 home runs, and had 53 runs batted in.
Freeman is the first Braves player to win the MVP since Chipper Jones, who won it all the way back in 1999.
Congrats to both Jose Abreu and Freddie Freeman for the well-deserved honor.
