Don't Doubt the Dark Lord

I doubted Bill Belichick for the first time in years after what transpired the past offseason. He has made me eat my words.

After the Patriots hobbled to the playoffs last year, and Tom Brady went down to Tampa, Florida, a lot of experts/analyst/fans were questions the Greatest Coach of all-time. He did not even attempt to keep Brady, and for most of the summer they had no quarterback until Cam Newton fell onto their lap.

Once the season started they lost Dont'a Hightower, Patrick Chung, Marcus Cannon, and the offensive woes from last year appeared again. After starting the season 2-2, they lost a series of games and fell to 2-5. All this was happening while Tom Brady is enjoying his new life in the sunshine state and going 6-2.

All the news headlines came across the screen once this happened:

"Brady wins the divorce"

"Time for Belichick to step down from head coach and GM"

"Belichick needed Brady more than Brady needed Belichick"

But Bill Belichick didn't win six Super Bowls by shear luck and Tom Brady, he is a genius. He has turned the patriots into old school, smash mouth football. They play physical on defense, make you feel their presence, and they run the football. During a MNF game against the Jets, they played physical and barely won the game, then the following week they upset the Baltimore Ravens in prime time, and improved their record to 4-5. With the expanded playoffs do not be surprised when the patriots make it and possibly win the division. This is the worst talented patriots team in years, and if any other coach was at the helm, they would have one or two wins.

The team has come together the last few weeks, Cam is getting back to his old self, pre-covid, but their schedule is not in their favor.

Week 11: Texans

Week 12: Cardinals

Week 13: Chargers

Week14: Rams

Week 15: Dolphins

Week 16: Bills

Week 17: Jets

We will have to wait and see the Dark Lord do his magic, because the road ahead is bumpy and his coaching skills will be tested.
